Sanskrit Lessons - Day 2

Welcome back to my Sanskrit blog post, guys! Today, we're going to learn more of Sanskrit!

2nd Chapter: Basic Sentences.

So, I'm going to teach basic sentences.

So third person in Sanskrit is called "प्रथमपुरुषः" and present tense is called "वर्तमानकालः"

We will learn more about this in later lessons.

प्रथमपुरुषः वर्तमानकालः

We call one and many in english. In the same way, we have एकवचनं for one and there is one unique part where we have something called द्वीवचनं ूthat is dual. We also count things/people in 2 objects. Finally, बहुवचनं ैwhich is many. We will use these terms later when we go on with lessons.

Ok, so lets go into the topic.

बालकः लिखति - Balakaha Likhati - A boy is reading

अजः चरति - Ajaha Carati - A goat is grazing

पाचकः पचति - Paachakaha Pacati - A cook is cooking

सेवकाः तिष्ठन्ति - Sevakaaha Tishthanti - Servants stood

नटाः नृत्यन्ति - Nataaha Nrutyanti - Actors danced

छात्राः उत्तिष्टन्ति - Chaatraaha Uttishtanti - Students are sitting

When you notice these sentences, you recognize that they are talking about a third person.

So, they talk about a third person. Learn these sentences and start talking about everyone as soon as possible!
